1. How do I know a domain has been registered to me?

Once you have recieved our confirmation e-mail to acknowledge that the registration was successful, you will be able to check the WHOIS database which will show you as the registered owner of the domain. Please note that the WHOIS database may take up to 24hrs to update.

2. How long does it take to register a domain name?

The registration process is almost instant to help insure that the name is reserved at the registry before anyone else can get it. Once you have completed the payment phase the registration request is processed. Upon a successful registration you will recieve an acknowledgement e-mail.

3. What is a domain name?

A domain name is your address on the Internet, e.g. www.domainname.com. It is just like a postal address, it tells other computers on the system where you are. But instead of giving the house number, street, town and so on, it explains which computer you are connected to and how you are connected to it.

A domain name can be used as the basis of an E-Mail Address, a Web Site Address, or both. E-Mail Addresses always have the @ symbol in them, and web site addresses usually contain www.

4. How long is the domain name registered for?

gTLDs (.com,.net,.org,.info,.biz) are registered for a 2 year period.

.EU domain names can be registered for a 1 year period as specified by the .EU registry.

You will be given first refusal when the domain comes around for renewal.

5. What if I don't want to be the registered owner of a domain?

In the checkout phase of your registration you will be given the opportunity to specify the registration contact for the domain name. This will be who the domain name will be registered for e.g. a company or individual other that yourself.
